​The virtual collections of the Atlantic Museum of Civilization was begun in 2014. 

 

 

James Nickelson, M.Phil.
Executive Director

 

James Nickelson is the founder, director, chief curator and webmaster of the Atlantic Museum of Civilization. James holds Bachelor's degrees in Ancient Studies and in Anthropology from Michigan State University, as well as a Master's degree in Archaeology from the University of Glasgow. He has participated in archaeological investigations at Roman sites along Hadrian's Wall, a post-Medieval croft in Scotland's Outer Hebrides, and Iron Age to Medieval sites on the Isle of Skye. 

 

Professionally he has worked at a public museum, for an archaeological publication and spent 13 years in the non-profit field. He has now turned his attentions to the Atlantic Museum Project and creating the fictional world of Dusty Cavendish.
